From the moment I got here, I could feel that the culture was different. The care here is genuine. Every single person who works here shows up with kindness, presence, and real compassion, and you feel that immediately. What stood out to me most was how much this program understands that healing is not one-dimensional. This wasn’t just about symptom management or getting through the day. There was a huge focus on nervous system healing, safety, connection, and helping people actually reconnect with themselves in a real and lasting way. The variety of therapy modalities and approaches made the experience feel thoughtful and individualized instead of rigid or one-size-fits-all. The staff here are some of the most emotionally attuned and invested people I’ve met in this field. Nothing felt transactional or surface level. I felt genuinely seen, supported, cared for, and understood throughout my time here. I came here during one of the hardest periods of my life, and I’m leaving feeling more grounded, hopeful, and connected to myself than I thought was possible a few months ago. From the moment I arrived, I felt supported, safe, and genuinely cared for. The staff created an environment that felt welcoming rather than clinical, which meant everything to me during a vulnerable time. I especially want to spotlight Zuly, a BHT, and Eli, one of the nurses. They treated me with so much kindness, patience, and respect. They went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, seen, and human not just a patient. Laughing with them was honestly one of the best parts of my day and brought so much light into moments that could’ve felt heavy. I also want to give a huge thank you to the Chef Ari for always being so accommodating and patient with my picky palate especially my strong dislike of vegetables. Their flexibility, care, and effort to make sure I was nourished and comfortable did not go unnoticed and meant more to me than I can express. The compassion, warmth, and humanity shown by this team helped me feel grounded and hopeful. CHC is definitely one of the best residential facilities in California. The luxurious facility is outstanding and the entire staff is extremely kind, caring, organized and highly professional. The program included recurrent group outings and several physical and recreational activities. While my son's recovery process continues, he made significant improvements at CHC, in particular with finding the most effective medication. My highest appreciation to John for his support and advice as well as Ian, Liam, Jennifer and all the staff. I was grateful to embrace the peace, tranquility and calm of the facility. The staff are kind, and there is a no-tolerance here for indoor vaping which I am grateful for, since vaping is a discomfort for me. I wish there were more programs like California Healing Centers in California that were prohibiting of tobacco/nicotine products due to their harmful effects. California Healing Centers has offered Equine Therapy, Exercise Groups, Sound Therapy (using Rasha Technology), red light therapy in a short period of time. I am also grateful for the groups with South African Josh that focus on embracing my gifts. Being able to share about my faith in a program like this helps me be honest about my convictions and exhorts me to be actionable about my recovery.
